Expect soaring vocals and songs that cut to the heart.  \nPaul Fonfara \n– Paul marches to his own clarinet/guitar/saxophone/whatever! DESCRIPTION:Violinist Jacob Schafer\, cellist Patricia Ryan\, and pianist Jeong-Eun Lee debuted as Trio Zenia in March 2023 at the University of Texas San Antonio. Holding degrees from Rice University\, San Francisco Conservatory of Music\, Eastman School of Music\, University of Southern California\, and Yale University\, the three have played together in many collaborative opportunities. \nJacob is a freelance violinist based in Houston\, TX and is a core member of Loop38 and Kinetic Ensemble. Patricia is the former cellist of the Artaria String Quartet based in the Twin Cities and is a core member of 10th Wave Chamber Music Collective\, Kinetic Ensemble\, and Delphia Cello Quartet as well as the host of the podcast Haydn Behind the Music Stand. Jeong-Eun is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Collaborative Piano at UTSA and performs extensively throughout Texas.

DESCRIPTION:When four world class Saxophone performers become friends and form a quartet\, you have an explosion of energy\, joy and deeply wonderful music-making – you have Ancia! — Libby Larsen \nFor over thirty years the Ancia Saxophone Quartet has been sharing its passion for new music with audiences around the world through performances filled with energy\, precision\, and beauty. Ancia is excited to make their debut performance at Metronome Brewery\, presenting a concert of some of their favorite selections from recent performance seasons. \nOn the program is Trapped by UK composer Claire Cope. The quartet met Claire when they gave the American premiere of this piece last year in Madison at the LunArt Festival\, and greatly enjoyed both the piece and working with the composer. Marc Mellits’ Ex Machina\, an audience favorite in recent years\, was written in 2017 and as with much of Mellits’ writing for saxophone\, the saxophone’s history in funk and soul music is brought into his minimalist style processes by way of seemingly simple rhythmic grooves. Other engaging works on the program include Guillermo Lago’s Ciudades\, a selection from Maurice Ravel’s Quartet\, and more.

DESCRIPTION:The International Treasures are Doyle Turner and Ted Hajnasiewicz. \nTugging on heartstrings and bringing smiles to faces since 2020\, the Treasures have been captivating audiences throughout the Midwest with their charismatic storytelling\, sweet harmonies\, and transcendent songs about the universal human condition. Active performers as solo artists and various musical projects\, Doyle and Ted both have a solid recording catalog. The International Treasures’ debut album was released into the world September 2023. \nTed was named the Midwest Country Music Organization’s 2022 Maverick Award Winner\, a year after his video “Just For Show” won the MCMO’s 2021 Video of the Year. Doyle is a celebrated songwriter\, recently having been selected as finalist in the 2023 Red Lodge Songwriting Competition. Collectively they were nominated recently for songwriters of the year and Americana Artist of the year by the Midwest CMO. \nDoyle Turner and Ted Hajnasiewicz – together\, they are the International Treasures.

Obadiah is partnered with Free Guitars for Kids and got the honor of playing onstage at Paisley Park for one of their events. His music is influenced by a myriad of styles\, but he has a particular love for jazz and bossa nova. His latest release\, Felt It\, is available on all streaming platforms \n  \n.

Collaborating with diverse perspectives and unique gifts\, they contribute to the continuing evolution of the craft\, echoing John Keats’ timeless words : “Beauty is truth\, truth beauty.” It is upon this pillar that the Fíora Ensemble formed\, striving to bring tangible beauty to audiences throughout the Twin Cities. \nTaken from the Irish- Gaelic word Fíor\, meaning real\, true or genuine\, the ensemble aspires to provide meaningful\, expressive and moving experiences for all audiences. Formed in 2024 by original members Anne Ainomaë\, Heidi Amundsen\, Jane Cords-O’Hara and Elise Meichels Parker\, the group seeks to be a collaborative haven for additional local artists. The four principal players have a wealth of experience from all genres and styles of music ranging from classical chamber music to Broadway musicals \, and have worked with local\, national and international ensembles. They have performed at venues such as Orchestra Hall\, Ordway Center\, The Guthrie and Carnegie Hall.
