DESCRIPTION:6-7pm – Gabriela Sweet\n \nFor Gabriela\, her guitars are dearest collaborators. “My 1930s dobros and my Nationals have open sound doors\, so I can hear things that I wouldn’t\, otherwise. I love to hear what these tremendously responsive guitars do especially when improvising and playing bottleneck slide in open tunings”. Gabriela plays instrumentals & songs with words: jazz\, son montuno\, festejo\, zydeco\, American standards\, blues\, and sings in Spanish\, English\, French\, Gaelic\, German\, Italian\, Brazilian Portuguese\, Russian\, Tagalog\, and Ukrainian.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n7-9pm – Pavel Jany and Dean Harrington\n \n\nPavel Jany is a contemporary jazz guitarist and composer whose long musical journey encompasses many various styles. Pavel has founded several international jazz projects on the Twin Cities’ music scene\, including Brazilian jazz ensemble Ticket To Brazil\, instrumental trio Talking Strings\, and jazz/fusion group Global Jazz Collegium. He is a co-founder of Duo CORDA and he occasionally performs and records with other local and international artists.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDean Harrington earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of MN and was a first prize winner in the Schubert Club scholarship competition. For the last two decades he has been exclusively a jazz musician performing with his own band Mill City Hot Club and other local groups. He is proud of his work as a guitar teacher for over 30 years at K & S Conservatory of Music in Woodbury\, The Music Lab in Minneapolis\, and Mount Olivet School of Music in Edina.

SUMMARY:Ben Cook-Felz Vinyl Release Show with Special Guest Matthew French
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS ON ZEFFY \nSemi-beloved songwriter and pianist Ben Cook-Feltz is marking 20 years of Twin Cities music making with a vinyl best-of\, and a special one-time performance at MetroNOME Brewing. Cook-Feltz will play music spanning his entire catalog\, including songs he has very rarely performed\, as well as new music and fan favorites (such as his morose cover of Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville”). Rather than bring his full band\, Cook-Feltz will instead perform mostly solo piano-and-voice\, joined occasionally by trusted musical friends Cole Mickelson\, Andy Schuster\, Peter Remiger and more. The event will celebrate the release of Ben There Done That\, a limited-edition vinyl Best Of. His good friend and fellow songwriter Matthew French will also play a short set. The show promises to be a night of stories\, camaraderie\, merriment\, and more tuneful music than you can shake a stick at. Presuming you wanted to shake a stick at music. Which\, fine. It is still a free country. \nBen Cook-Feltz Bio \nDescribed by Iowa Public Radio as “Paul Simon singing songs about broken hearts and pants\,” Ben Cook-Feltz is a singer\, songwriter\, keyboardist and occasional drummer. Combining observational\, subtly quirky lyrics with melodies that hearken back to the classic sounds of the 60′s and 70′s\, he has been entertaining and confusing audiences throughout the Midwest (but mostly Minnesota) as a dynamic performer\, whether playing solo\, with his crackerjack band\, or supporting some of the finest regional talent (Mother Banjo\, Haley E Rydell\, Jaspar Lepak). His most recent record\, Cook-Feltz Sings Son of Schmilsson\, was released in August 2025 and was hailed as “expertise and precision at its finest; art with a limitless sense of fun” (Adventures in Americana). When not indulging in his rockstar delusions\, Cook-Feltz is a devoted father\, cycling enthusiast and lifelong Godzilla fan. \n \nMatthew French Bio \nMatthew French is an evocative singer-songwriter hailing from the heartland of America\, whose music intertwines the heartfelt storytelling of Americana with the unmistakable spirit of rock. Drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Tom Petty and contemporary troubadour David Ramirez\, French crafts songs that resonate deeply with listeners\, blending poignant lyrics with memorable melodies. DESCRIPTION:A native Montrealer\, Marc Bellemare fell in love with jazz in his teens because of his hometown’s international jazz festival. But life got in the way\, and it was not until his mid-40s that Marc began learning how to play jazz on his instrument. For his début as a bandleader\, he is joined onstage by Brandon Mickelsen (drums)\, Marlo Williams (bass)\, and Mike Young (sax).
