TODAY! 7:30-9:30 Good Acoustics – the radio show for musical omnivores on KBEM Jazz88 — has decided to start a regular showcase for the local artists we feature on our program. Come gather at MetroNOME Brewing in Lowertown St. Paul to hear some of the artists whose music we love. This month we’ll be hearing from: PK Mayo – Mayo is the complete package. His music is an aural quilt built of what is today called the Americana genre: country, rock & roll, blues and folk, shaken and stirred into a satisfying musical brew. Molly Maher – Molly Maher’s music resides on the border Americana roots and big city grooves moving beautifully between them, blending simmering cools with twangy lament-filled spirit, guitar driven country-folk-jam with a blues swagger – landing somewhere between Lucinda Williams and Bonnie Raitt. Matt Hannah – Thoughtful, evocative, soulful Americana songwriting from a local master who is one of the hardest-working musicians on the scene.
