Zola’s indie sound resonates somewhere in the realm of acoustic Elliott Smith and Aimee Mann. Skating the dichotomous line of opacity and vulnerability, her lyrics explore identity, memory, and biting self-reflection. Zoe Grigsby: Zoe is a folk singer-songwriter known for her gut-wrenching lyrics and ethereal guitar playing. Zoe uses music as a way to unite people, in the true nature of folk music, singing about what it means to be alive in our world. Zoe’s folk band features a stellar group of talented local musicians: Reid Kruger, Ryan Dugan, Dominic Acito of New Seven, and Rachel Calvert of Triple Fiddle. TONIGHT! MN Guitar Society Monthly Free Concert – Double Duo Excitement! 6:00 pm FREE SHOW 6-7:30pm – Wayne Fisher and David Crittenden Duo David Crittenden started playing the guitar in his early teens. He is an accomplished classical guitarist and teacher in the twin cities area. Wayne Fisher also started playing the guitar in his early teens. He has played in rock and roll bands, studied classical guitar and now exclusively plays jazz guitar. 7:30-9pm – Dan Schwartz & Nick Salisbury – Guitar & Bass Duo Roots based, melody driven tunes set in a loose jazz framework. Both members of The Neighborhood Quartet. Dan Schwartz has played with many singer-songwriters and acoustic acts, including Dan Navarro and Peter Mayer. Bassist Nick Salisbury is a particular favorite with songwriters and Americana acts such as Brian Fallon, Sarah Morris, Jack Klatt, and the Dollys. Beat the heat!
