Their iconic 1975 album Troupeau Bleu is widely regarded as a masterpiece and became a cornerstone of hip-hop sampling, its timeless grooves reimagined by artists including Tyler TheCreator, MF DOOM, Madlib, Rick Ross, Kanye West, Baby Keem, and Damso. TONIGHT! FREE SHOW! DON'T MISS :) North Star Jazz Workshops Fall Member concert. About: January 2025, we launched our first ensembles. Since then, North Star has continued to grow into a broader community of musicians, instructors, and collaborators. What started as a few small groups has expanded to include classes, private lessons, jam sessions, clinics, workshops, and special events. Across everything we offer, we help musicians make space for that creative practice in their lives. Whether someone is joining an ensemble, taking a class, studying privately, attending a clinic, or showing up at a jam session, the goal is the same: to create a place where musicians can keep developing their sound, deepen their relationship with jazz, and stay connected to a community of people who are learning alongside them.
